Boca Trio Help TRS Make History
December 1, 2009

History of high school soccer in the shore area has told us that when several Boca players combine their talents on the same high school field, for the same school, on the same team, in the same season, the results are usually magical. And this was the case in 2009 as a trio of Boca standouts turned their attention from club to school during the fall and led Toms River High School South to an historic NJSIAA Group IV Boys soccer title.

Chrashewsky, Nogewich and Casey play major role in Group IV title run

TOMS RIVER, NJ (December 1, 2009) – Throughout the thirty-one year history of the Jersey Shore Boca Soccer Club, it is not uncommon to have seen hundreds of standout Boca players come through the club’s youth ranks to advance and excel on the high school stage at their respective schools, as their individual names made headlines within the county, shore, state and national soccer landscape.

And in cases when several Boca players combined their talents on the same field, for the same school, on the same team, in the same season, the results were usually magical as such the scenario this year.

A trio of Jersey Shore Boca players, Dan Chrashewsky, John Nogewich and Sean Casey turned their attention from club to school during the fall and led Toms River High School South to an historic NJSIAA Group IV Boys soccer title with a 1-0 win over Clifton in November.

The senior striker’s play has caught the eye of several colleges including Neumann University, Marywood University and East Stroudsburg University.

“Congratulations to the Toms River South Boy’s soccer program. Toms River South seniors Dan Chrashewsky and Sean Casey, and junior John Nogiewich were key contributors in leading TR South to their championship. Additionally, each helped lead the Boca U17s to become Champions of the US Club NJ Cup and Finalists in the US Club Regionals” mentioned Guy Lockwood, President of Jersey Shore Boca.

“The Shore High School soccer scene is loaded with current Boca talent and it is fitting to see that displayed on the high school pitch.”

Chrashewsky, Nogewich and Casey have been members of Jersey Shore Boca for several years with all three players joining the club earlier in their youth career.

All three players were part of the Jersey Shore Boca U17 team that captured the New Jersey Cup and advanced to the US Club Soccer National Cup last season.
