GK Named Super Y-League U18 Player of the Week

The United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League has announced that Jersey Shore Boca goalkeeper Chris Konopka was named the “ National U18 Super Y-League Player of the Week” last week.
Konopka recorded 11 saves against national powerhouse FC Delco from Philadelphia in a 4-0 loss when Boca hosted Delco on Saturday at Oak Avenue Park in Toms River. After a goal by Delco in the 5th minute of the match, Konopka & the Boca back four defenders held Delco at bay for the next 70 minutes of the game until Delco scored their 2nd goal in the 76th minute.
Due to multiple injuries to the Boca starting 11, Konopka was forced to play the field for the remaining 15 minutes of the match. Delco recorded two additional goals in the 85st and 90th minutes.
