Hall of Fame Bound

Two former Jersey Shore Boca standouts, Jason Cairns and Gary Lindstra, will be included in the 2011 College of New Jersey Hall of Fame ceremony when their 1996 TCNJ national championship men’s soccer team is enshrined on Friday, October 21 as a Team of Distinction. The Boca hall of fame duo has been a member of numerous JSB youth and adult teams over the years, including the Boca NJ State Cup Championship teams of the mid ‘90s. + more

Belated Congratulations Due To Cunliffe

Some belated congratulations are in order for Jersey Shore Boca U23 shot-stopper Charlie Cunliffe as the NCAA announced in late March that the Rowan University senior goalkeeper and Boca standout was awarded a NCAA postgraduate scholarship. Cunliffe has been a member of the Boca U23 program for the past five years and is also a veteran of several Boca youth teams during his career. + more

Boca Alum Makes MLS League Debut

Former JSB goalkeeper Chris Konopka made his MLS first-team league debut Saturday night at Red Bull Arena in front of a sell-out crowd of 25,171 and helped the NY Red Bulls earn a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire. The Boca alum played the full 90 minutes allowing two goals while making three saves, including the “save of the game” in the 71st minute against Chicago’s Uruguayan international Diego Chaves to help preserve the draw. + more

LeBlanc Talks About Parity and 2011

Former Jersey Shore Boca standout and current West Virginia University head men’s soccer coach Marlon LeBlanc believes the 9.9 scholarship rule in men’s soccer has provided more parity in the sport. The storied Boca alum, who begins his sixth year in charge of the Mountaineers, also has his sights set on developing his players for the next level. + more

Boca Alum Tabbed by UPenn

UPenn head coach of women's soccer, Darren Ambrose recently announced the appointment of Jersey Shore Boca alum Ken Masuhr as an assistant coach with the Quakers. The Ocean Gate resident, who stared at Monsignor Donovan High School before his collegiate career, was a part of various Boca youth and adult teams over the years, including a member of Boca’s U23 team during 2004. + more
