TOMS RIVER, NJ (March 14, 2011) – What do Glasgow Celtic, Phil Morretta, Manchester United, Chad Beaupierre, Erik Burstein, Dave Munson, Tom Wieboldt, Mike Carey, 300 victories, Al’s Garlic Butter, a toothbrush, petroleum jelly and Pier One all have in common?

They are all mentioned in this Jersey Shore Boca newsletter archive, “The Boca Connection” from March 1993.

Before the days of the World Wide Web, email, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, “The Boca Connection” was a monthly publication prepared by the club and mailed via the US Postal Services to Boca families, players and friends of the club which summarized Boca’s recent noteworthy activities.

This edition from 18 years ago, featured “The Boca Story” written by Walt Pericciouli, one of the Jersey Shore Boca founders and current coach of the Boca U23 men’s team, updates on some of the Boca teams at the time, club announcements and accomplishments (Al Schwartz’s 300 coaching victory honored by the NSCAA), a recipe for Al’s Garlic Butter and a notice that the next monthly club meeting was to be held at the Pier One Restaurant on Wednesday, March, 24, 1993 at 7:30pm.

Jersey Shore Boca has been a fixture in the soccer community since 1978 and is one of the most respected soccer clubs on the East Coast.
