The Jersey Shore Boca U23 men got an unexpected surprise when DC/Virginia U23 withdrew from this weekend’s Regional Championships, giving them a berth in the tournament.

Boca was determined by the United States Adult Soccer Association as the next most competitive team to fill the void.

Boca (4-3-4) is tied for fourth place in the MSSL.

Jason Mancuso (15 goals, seven assists) and Mark Schmiegel (two goals, six assists), two former Toms River North standouts, have led Boca offensively.

Brick grad Justin McGrath follows with three goals and three assists.
