The Boca U15s Stay Unbeaten While U19s Capture First SYL Win

The Boca U15s continued their undefeated SYL season this week as they got the best of Parsippany 9-1 in addition to earning a 1-1 draw against Super Nova to remain atop the U15 SYL Mid-Atlantic Division while the Boca U19s split two tough matches in this week’s edition of the Boca Soccer Wire.

BOCA U23s – Mid-Atlantic Summer Showcase League (2-4-1):
The Boca U23s traveled north and took on the NJ Rangers on Saturday in a regular season MSSL league game. Boca came out on top 5-1 with Bobby Hurl of Middletown and Justin Fuccello of Brick combining for 4 goals and 1 assist to lead the Boca side.
BOCA U19s – Super Y-League (1-5-0):
The Boca U19s picked-up their first win of the 2004 SYL season against a strong side form the Parsippany SC last Tuesday at the Manchester Soccer Complex. On Thursday, the U19s traveled to Philadelphia for a rematch with the PSC Coppa. In a tough game that was well played by both sides, the U19s lost a close one 1-0. “We played much better this week and I’m happy with our overall effort. Our guys came to play both games and that’s all I can ask for. We played some good soccer and I hope we can continue our effort throughout the rest of the season” mentioned Wolf Finger, coach of the Boca U19s.
BOCA U16s – Super Y-League (4-3-0):
A goal and assist each from two Hamiltonians helped the Boca U16s defeat Super Nova 4-2 Thursday night at the Manchester Soccer Complex. Stanley Touze and Varlee Koon each had one goal and one assist in the Boca win. Kevin Melfi of Medford and Daniel Verdel also of Hamilton added one goal each for Boca. Jamal Neptune of East Windsor claimed Boca’s other assist on the day. With the win, the U16s improve to 4-3-0. They are currently tied for 3rd place in the SYL Mid-Atlantic Division with PSC Coppa of Philadelphia with each team having 12 points apiece.
BOCA U15s – Super Y-League (6-0-1):
Coach Tom Gentz and the Boca U15s remained undefeated this week as the battled their counterparts from Super Nova to a 1-1 draw at the Manchester Soccer Complex last Thursday night. On Saturday, also at Manchester, the Boca u15s had their way with their opponents from the Parsippany Soccer Club tallying a 9-1 win. The Boca U15s remain in first place in the SYL Mid-Atlantic Division with 19 points overall. The U15s will be tested on Saturday when they host the powerhouse Baltimore Bays at 2pm at the Manchester Soccer Complex. It will be the only meeting of the two teams for the 2004 regular season.
BOCA U14s (girls) – Super Y-League (1-6-0):
The Boca Girls had their hands full this weekend as they hosted two of the top soccer clubs on the East Coast. The U14 Girls dropped a 9-0 decision to powerful DC United and also lost 6-1 to the Baltimore Bays.
