Boca Alum Named To Monmouth Staff

Monmouth University head women’s soccer coach Krissy Turner has announced the addition of former Jersey Shore Boca player Kenny Masuhr to the Hawks coaching staff. Masuhr, who moves to Monmouth from FDU Florham, was a part of various Boca youth and adult teams during his career including a member of Boca’s U23 team during their inaugural season in the Mid-Atlantic Summer Showcase League.

Masuhr becomes Hawks assistant women’s coach
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University women’s soccer head coach Krissy Turner recently announced the addition of former Jersey Shore Boca player Kenny Masuhr to the Hawks coaching staff.
“Kenny will be a tremendous asset to our staff,” stated Turner. “He will be assisting on the field, in all facets of the game, and in our day-to-day operations, Kenny will be also working with the local soccer community in continuing to promote our program and the camps/clinics we offer.”
Masuhr, who played at Richard Stockton College from 2002 to 2004 after transferring from Rutgers, won two NJAC Championships with the Ospreys.
In 2002, Masuhr was named all-conference and all-region and in 2004 he helped Stockton advance to the NCAA Elite Eight.
While at Rutgers, Masuhr was part of the Scarlet Knights’ 1999 Big East Regular Season Championship squad, and made an NCAA Tournament appearance.

After his playing days, Masuhr earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from Kean University in 2007.
While at Kean, he served as a men’s assistant coach for two years under NJ legend Tony Ochrimenko, as the Cougars advanced to the ECAC Tournament in 2005.
For the past two seasons, Masuhr has been an assistant women’s coach at Fairleigh Dickinson (Florham).
Masuhr, an Ocean Gate resident who stared at Monsignor Donovan High School before his collegiate career, was a part of various Boca youth and adult teams over the years, including a member of Boca’s U23 team during their inaugural year in the Mid-Atlantic Summer Showcase League (MSSL).
He holds the Premier Diploma from the NSCAA and a “B” license from the United States Soccer Federation. Masuhr is also accredited with the FA, the governing body of soccer in England.
The Boca alum is part of an elite group of former Jersey Shore Boca standouts who are presently “teachers of the game” at some of the most recognized college soccer programs in the United States including:
Jason Ash (Toms River), head men’s coach at Ocean County College;
Erik Burstein (Toms River), head women’s coach at Kutztown University;
George Gelnovatch (Wall), head men’s coach at the University of Virginia;
Brian Hutterman (Toms River), assistant men’s coach at Ocean County College;
Marlon LeBlanc (East Windsor), head men’s coach at West Virginia University;
Ken Lola (Brick), head men’s coach at the University of Louisville and
Paul Royal (Philadelphia), head women’s coach at LaSalle University.
Jersey Shore Boca has been a fixture in the soccer community since 1978 and is one of the oldest and most respected soccer clubs on the East Coast.
The Club is celebrating their 31-year anniversary in 2009.
