Boca PDL Player Signs with A-League Team

Freehold native to play for the Charleston Battery

Charleston, SC (March 9, 2004) – The Charleston Battery of the United Soccer League’s A-League has agreed to terms with former Jersey Shore Boca PDL player Jason Kutney for the 2004 campaign.

Kutney participated in the Battery’s pre-season player trials.

He joins the Battery for his first professional season after a stand-out four year college career at Duquesne University. Kutney, was named to the 2003 Middle Atlantic Regional All-American Team, as well as the 2003 Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year in men’s soccer.

A native of Freehold, NJ, Kutney, 6’0”, 163 lbs., 22 yrs., played in the Premier Development League in 2003 with the Jersey Shore Boca, appearing in 10 games for a total of 798 minutes.

Kutney participated in the third week of Charleston Battery player trials in early February.
