Ryan Trachman’s goal broke a 1-1 tie and the Jersey Shore Boca under 18 soccer team defeated Super Nova FC in a USL Super Y-League match last weekend in Carlisle, Pa.

Trachman, who will be a senior at Toms River High School East in September, received a 40-yard pass from Southern Regional’s Kris Cheeseman and placed the ball into the far corner of the goal with three minutes left in the first half. Trachman is Boca’s leading scorer with three goals and two assists for eight points.

Kasen Whitehouse added the insurance goal with 15 minutes remaining when he converted a pass from Charlie Smith and beat the Super Nova goalkeeper one-on-one and deposited a shot to the near post. It was the second assist of the day for Smith, who will also be a senior at Toms River East in September.

Smith set up Boca’s first goal when he slotted a low through ball to Tariq Harmani, who then blasted a left-footed shot into the net.

Boca goalkeeper Chris Konopka, who will be a junior at Toms River East this fall, stopped 13 shots. He is averaging 11 saves and just one goal allowed in four games.
