Boca U12s top Pittsgrove – Remain Undefeated
October 15, 2000
The Boca U12s continue their remarkable string and remain unbeaten.
For the second week in a row, they had to come back from trailing at half time. This week, they were down 2-0 and faced a much more formidable opponent in Pittsgrove, who were unbeaten coming into the match.
“We really dominated the second half and I don’t think we allowed Pittsgrove a shot on goal in the half” said coach Walt Pericciuoli.
The U12s scored just minutes into the second half and kept up the pressure throughout. The tying goal came at about the 20 min. mark of the half, and would have been satisfying enough, but the boys showed no quit and kept going for the winner. The winner came with just seconds on the clock. Pittsgrove had time only for a kick off before the referee blew the final whistle.
The Boca boys have a make up match Tue. Oct. 17th 7:30 under the lights at Bey Lea soccer complex. A win Tuesday will put them alone in first place in their SJSL division.
This is the inaugural season for the Boca U12 team.
